Mick Smith has lived in Wisconsin for about 10 years now, and he has certainly put down roots in the Badger State during his time here.

The 49th playing of the Assistant PGA Professional Championship is set to take place on Thursday-Sunday, November 13-17. This year’s championship will venture back to PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, FL for the 30th straight year. Players will take on the challenging Dye Course for the entirety of the 72-hole championship. 

The 37th Senior PGA Professional Championship will kick off on Thursday, October 23 and run until Sunday, October 26. This year’s championship will be hosted by PGA Golf Club for the 16th time.

The 2025 Wisconsin PGA tournament season came to a close on Monday at Trappers Turn GC in Wisconsin Dells. A sold-out field of 56 twosomes came out to enjoy the Premier Golf & Utility Vehicles Fall Pro-Pro Scramble. The event marked the 48th event of the 2025 season.

As the calendar turned to October, the end of the Wisconsin PGA tournament season was in sight. Last Monday’s contest featured the first of back-to-back Fall Pro-Pros to close of the year. This year the Better Ball came first, as forty-eight two-player teams teed it up at Pleasant View GC on the woods and lake nines.

After a successful debut in 2024, the Fall Take-Two Pro-Am Challenge returned to the WPGA pro-am schedule last week. This year’s version took the multi-day pro-am to central Wisconsin for two great days of golf.

For the second straight season the Wisconsin PGA lucked out with an absolutely gorgeous day for the Oliphant Golf Management Pro-Am Championship. The 10th playing of the championship returned to its familiar host site on Monday, the Links Course of The GC’s of Lawsonia.

The Manuel de la Torre trophy has taken up residence at Blackwolf Run once again. Dan Hastreiter and Josh Grisa grabbed their third Reyes Retail Pro-Assistant victory on Monday.

Scoring was tight for the majority of this week’s Wisconsin PGA Professional Championship at stingy Ozaukee CC, but Tuesday afternoon the birdies began to land along Milwaukee’s North Shore.

The Cheese Open Pro-Am returned to the WPGA schedule for the first time since 2013 on Monday. Twenty-Eight foursomes made the trek to Monroe Golf Club for a great day of golf, camaraderie, and competition.
