The 45th playing of the U.S. Senior Open will kick off on Thursday, June 26 and run until Sunday, June 29 on the East Course at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs.

Fresh off his six-year run on the men’s golf team at the University of South Dakota, Max Schmidtke has kicked off his professional career with a bang. The newly registered PGA Associate made headlines on Monday at the third 18-hole WPGA Classic of the season.

The WPGA Four-Player Pro-Am Series was back on-course for its third event in the past five weeks on Monday. After starting the year at West Bend, Kohler and Eau Claire, it was fitting that the series would stop in Madison. Hosting the Madison area site was former yearly pro-am host, Blackhawk CC. As for event partners, The Suter Ward Group at Morgan Stanley and Tito’s Vodka teamed up to enhance the day.

A visa snafu forced Chloe Chan to enter the Sentry Wisconsin State Women’s Open this week as an amateur, but if the former University of Wisconsin golfer plays the kind of golf she did Wednesday she’ll be cashing checks as a professional golfer just as soon as that time comes.

In his seventh try Mick Smith found the success he had been seeking at the Hornung’s Classic on Monday. The Australian along with 86 other WPGA professionals teed it up at the 54th edition of the event at South Hills G&CC. The field was stacked with the top players in the Section, which forced him to be on top of his game to get the win.

The Wisconsin PGA was excited to be back in the Northwest part of the state on Monday, as a full field of pro-am teams ventured to Eau Claire G&CC. It marked the first time a Wisconsin PGA pro-am type of event has visited Eau Claire G&CC since the final year of the Buick Scramble.
