Gaugert Grabs Hold of Match Play Win

The 2021 WPGA Match Play Championship came to a close on Friday afternoon. After about three months of play it was time to crown a champion. The event kicked off back in early May with the qualifying round and three rounds of matches over two days at Geneva National Resort. The surviving eight players would then branch out on their own and play their quarterfinal match at a mutually agreed upon time and site.

Mantyla Makes Himself at Home at Morningstar

The members and regular customers at Morningstar GC say it rarely is calm at the Waukesha based golf course. On Monday the players in the Wisconsin Senior PGA Professional Championship experienced one of those rare days and it was a green light to go low in round one. All told, seven players or 1/3 of the field was able to break par, and set the stage for a final round shootout on Tuesday.

Diaz Gets It Done at Morningstar

The 2021 National Car Rental Wisconsin Assistant PGA Professional Championship came to a close early Monday evening. The twenty-nine professionals that were in the field had just faced the always grueling 36-hole day. With warm, sunny, and relatively benign conditions, it turned out to be quite an exciting day with plenty of birdies to go around.

Steady & Stable – Leonard Finds Edelweiss To His Liking

The Stableford Classic made its debut on the WPGA tournament schedule on Tuesday morning. The one day 18-hole event brought a little different mindset to the players, as they battled it out for a nice purse and player of the year points. The plan to pile up as many points as possible with an aggressive strategy fit perfectly at Edelweiss Chalet CC. The 33 players in the field had the chance to go flag hunting, but couldn’t get overly aggressive with several penalty areas and out of bounds outlining the golf course.

Higgins & Company C-Hawk Up A Victory

After an open week on the tournament schedule, the WPGA was back in action on Monday. The annual National Golf Graphics Pro-Am brought together 29 teams to enjoy a day at Blackhawk CC in Madison. The overcast day brought a little rain, a little sunshine and plenty of fun. 

This year’s format would again feature the always challenging net stableford team game. This time around the top 3 net scores for the group would count on each hole.
