Well Worth The Wait

After almost a four-month wait the 2023 TaylorMade Pro-Am was finally able to be completed on Tuesday at Oconomowoc Golf Club. Originally scheduled for May 1, the first go round featured a postponement due to some awful spring weather. For everyone’s sake, sunny and breezy on Tuesday was a whole lot better than the cold and sleet that showed up on May 1. Only one team that originally had intended on playing canceled after the event was postponed. They were quickly replaced and a sold-out field would enjoy a great day on the Donald Ross layout.

A Dandy Performance By Team Brown Deer

The second and final WPGA Pro-Ladies event of the season would come to a close on Monday evening. It was another fantastic day for golf, as twenty-three teams were blessed with a picture perfect day. After visiting Bishops Bay CC for the spring edition, the summer version would venture to Brown Deer Park GC. The club would be hosting a WPGA Pro-Ladies pro-am for the first time. Once again it was a day filled with camaraderie, with plenty of laughter and storytelling throughout. Cameron Huss pulled away this week to win the 103rd Suter Ward Group at Morgan Stanley Wisconsin State Open Championship at SentryWorld, a tournament that was extended to a fourth day due to inclement weather. The leaderboard was tight all week – as was the tournament schedule after heavy rain soaked the Stevens Point area on Monday morning, causing close to a four-hour delay for unplayable course conditions. Wisconsin PGA Section tournament officials tried to catch-up, but the fourth round still wasn’t completed on time Wednesday evening.

Crowley Can’t Be Stopped At Waupaca

Glen Murray knew it could be an interesting and possibly special day from the start when he was making his way to Waupaca CC on Monday for the WPGA Stableford Classic. The chief operating officer at Geneva National Resort spotted an albino doe on his drive over, and instantly sent out a picture text to multiple individuals indicating the rare sighting. In Native American culture the sighting of an albino doe is very sacred and can represent prophecy and good fortune. One those individuals that received that text was his playing partner for the day and fellow competitor, Michael Crowley.
