After almost a four-month wait the 2023 TaylorMade Pro-Am was finally able to be completed on Tuesday at Oconomowoc Golf Club. Originally scheduled for May 1, the first go round featured a postponement due to some awful spring weather. For everyone’s sake, sunny and breezy on Tuesday was a whole lot better than the cold and sleet that showed up on May 1. Only one team that originally had intended on playing canceled after the event was postponed. They were quickly replaced and a sold-out field would enjoy a great day on the Donald Ross layout.
Read More »The second and final WPGA Pro-Ladies event of the season would come to a close on Monday evening. It was another fantastic day for golf, as twenty-three teams were blessed with a picture perfect day. After visiting Bishops Bay CC for the spring edition, the summer version would venture to Brown Deer Park GC. The club would be hosting a WPGA Pro-Ladies pro-am for the first time. Once again it was a day filled with camaraderie, with plenty of laughter and storytelling throughout. Although the fun factor is first and foremost at the Pro-Ladies, the teams still had their eyes set on the top prize.
Read More »Another beautiful day was on tap as the WPGA Four-Player Pro-Am Series was back on course on Monday. After making stops throughout the state in May, June and July, it was time for the series to finally hit the Milwaukee market. Thirty teams would gather at North Hills CC in Menomonee Falls, to enjoy some camaraderie and competition. This pro-am was different however, as the biggest purpose of the day was raising funds for PGA Reach Wisconsin. The 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and philanthropic arm of the Wisconsin PGA Section would be front and center.
Read More »Cameron Huss pulled away this week to win the 103rd Suter Ward Group at Morgan Stanley Wisconsin State Open Championship at SentryWorld, a tournament that was extended to a fourth day due to inclement weather. The leaderboard was tight all week – as was the tournament schedule after heavy rain soaked the Stevens Point area on Monday morning, causing close to a four-hour delay for unplayable course conditions. Wisconsin PGA Section tournament officials tried to catch-up, but the fourth round still wasn’t completed on time Wednesday evening.
Read More »The Wisconsin PGA Four-Player Pro-Am Series would make its annual stop at Destination Kohler on Monday. For the ninth time in the past ten years the WPGA would bring a sold-out pro-am field to enjoy one of the renowned courses at five-star resort. This year’s edition of the Suter Ward Group at Morgan Stanley Pro-Am would feature the Meadow Valleys Course at Blackwolf Run. It would mark the fourth time the Meadow Valleys has hosted during the ten-year run.
Read More »Glen Murray knew it could be an interesting and possibly special day from the start when he was making his way to Waupaca CC on Monday for the WPGA Stableford Classic. The chief operating officer at Geneva National Resort spotted an albino doe on his drive over, and instantly sent out a picture text to multiple individuals indicating the rare sighting. In Native American culture the sighting of an albino doe is very sacred and can represent prophecy and good fortune. One those individuals that received that text was his playing partner for the day and fellow competitor, Michael Crowley.
