Smith Is All Smiles After Securing Senior Win No. 1

It didn’t take long for Mick Smith to leave his mark on the senior ranks of Wisconsin golf. The Australian would make his first appearance in a major PGA Champions Tour event by qualifying for the U.S. Senior Open earlier this summer. After a great learning experience in early July, the 50-year-old set his sights on his first major senior event for the Wisconsin PGA. Smith along with thirty-four other PGA Professionals were in the field as the Wisconsin Senior PGA Professional Championship visited Meadowbrook Country Club in Racine the last few days.

Bach Goes Back-To-Back

David Bach’s red-hot play continued on Monday at the National Car Rental Wisconsin Assistant PGA Professional Championship at Meadowbrook Country Club in Racine. The defending champion showed once again why he is the man to beat in the assistant professional ranks on a lot of the days. After coming up just short with a runner-up finish at the WPGA Member Match Play Championship on Friday, he was looking for a little redemption. That redemption came in the form of back-to-back rounds of 69.

The first tee jitters hit us all. Whether it be a big tournament or just a casual daily round, it is one of the challenges of golf. The question is, can the player block them out, or possibly recover quickly to right the ship. Or does it go the other way and derail the early part of the round, leading to a tough day on the links. For Brian Brodell those jitters were ever present on Friday morning as the semifinals of the StrackaLine WPGA Match Play Championship got underway at West Bend Country Club.

Bis & Company Bring Home The Title At Bullseye

After shifting into the month of May for the first time in 2022, the National Golf Graphics Pro-Am was back in its familiar July spot. The always popular pro-am, which is presented with the help of Peter Meyer, was again kicking off the second half of the WPGA season after the July 4 break. For the first time since the Wisconsin PGA partnered with National Golf Graphics in 2015, the event would venture to the middle part of the state. This year’s edition would bring together twenty-four teams to enjoy a great day at long-time WPGA pro-am host site, Bullseye Golf Club.
