(Peter Hahm, Foy Swenson, Ron Fryer & Andy Sturmberg)

The Wisconsin PGA welcomed 29 teams to Maple Bluff Country Club on Monday, July 13, for the Wilson Golf Pro-Am, one of the featured stops on the Wisconsin PGA Four-Player Pro-Am Series.

The event brought together WPGA professionals and amateur partners for a day of competitive golf and camaraderie on the historic Maple Bluff layout. Teams competed in a one gross and one net better ball format, rewarding both exceptional individual play and consistent team performance throughout the round.

Claiming the team title were Foy Swenson, Peter Hahm, Ron Fryer, and Andy Sturmberg, who combined for an impressive 21-under-par 121 to win by two shots over the Craig Czerniejewski-led Washington County Golf Course team. The championship quartet delivered a remarkably consistent performance, never recording a score over par on any hole during the round. An impressive and rare feat in that format. Every player made meaningful contributions to the team score, with the card highlighted by a combination of natural birdies, net birdies, a net eagle, and even a net double eagle.

With their victory, Swenson’s team secured a spot in the Oliphant Golf Management Pro-Am Championship. Joining them as qualifiers from the eligible teams were the Andrew Krugler-led Nakoma Golf Club team and the Andy Hansen-led Tripoli Country Club foursome. The Washington County Golf Course team had previously earned its place in the championship field.

Leading the way in the low professional competitions were Craig Czerniejewski and Michael Crowley. Czerniejewski captured the low professional title for the second consecutive Pro-Am event, posting 41 Stableford points after firing a 5-under-par 66. Crowley earned the top senior professional honors with 39 Stableford points, highlighted by a strong 3-under-par 68.

A big thank-you goes out to the membership and staff at Maple Bluff Country Club for being an outstanding host site and providing an exceptional experience for all participants. The Wisconsin PGA also extends its sincere gratitude to Wilson Golf and Cole Golf Travel for their continued support, contributions to the event, and commitment to the Wisconsin PGA.
