HORNUNG’S CLASSIC
EVENT PARTNER

(Jeffrey Perry & Bob Hornung Jr.)

Jeffrey Perry delivered a standout performance on Monday at South Hills Golf & Country Club, firing a 6-under-par 65 to win the 55th Hornung’s Classic and secure his second Wisconsin PGA victory of the 2026 season.

With the event utilizing a shotgun start, Perry began his day on the 12th hole and wasted little time finding his rhythm. He opened with a birdie at No. 12 and continued to build momentum throughout the round, adding birdies at Nos. 14, 15 and 17 before making the turn to the front side.

One of the defining moments of the contest came at the par-4 15th hole. The Whistling Straits assistant professional was the only player in the field to make birdie on the hole, which played as the second-hardest hole of the day. The rare birdie allowed him to gain a stroke on every competitor and provided a key boost during a strong opening stretch.

After making the turn, Perry remained in control. He added birdies on Nos. 1, 6 and 8 and offset his lone bogey of the day to finish with seven birdies and a 65, the lowest round of the tournament.

The round showcased both patience and precision. Perry capitalized on scoring opportunities when they presented themselves while avoiding costly mistakes. His ability to maintain momentum throughout the day ultimately proved to be the difference.

Perry’s winning total gave him a two-shot advantage over Barrett Kelpin and Tim Pridemore, who shared runner-up honors with rounds of 67. In the Senior Professional Division, Pat Gorman claimed the top spot after posting an even-par 71.

The victory adds to an impressive start to the season for Perry, as the former Sacramento State golfer has now taken over the lead in the Assistant Professional Player of the Year standings.

A big thank you goes out to the Hornung family and Hornung’s Golf Products for their unwavering support of the Wisconsin PGA and the annual tournament. We’d also like to express our appreciation to the staff and membership at South Hills G&CC for being a gracious host.
