Leonard & Smith Lead The Way At The Nag

The battle for the Wisconsin PGA Player of the Year titles was front and center again on Monday. A field of 56 players took to Naga-Waukee GC in Pewaukee to participate in WPGA Classic #3. The 18-hole stroke play event was the third classic of the four event series. The one-day events will wrap up with the WPGA Stableford Classic on Tuesday, July 13 at Edelweiss Chalet CC.

Mick & Mantyla Leave Their Mark At Meadowbrook

The inaugural Wisconsin PGA Senior / Junior Better Ball made its debut on Sunday afternoon. The new addition to the tournament schedule brought together a field of WPGA members, associates and pre-associates to tee it up at Meadowbrook CC in Racine. The better ball event would feature teams that were made up of one WPGA member, associate or pre-associate 50 or over, and one that was 49 or younger. The teams would also tackle the old school layout from varying lengths as the junior men, senior men and junior women all had different sets of tees assigned to them.

Wieme & Company Come Up Big At The Bluff

Making its eighth annual appearance on the WPGA tournament calendar the Double Dip Pro-Am brought together another sold out pro-am field on Monday. This year’s edition was title sponsored by X Golf Madison & Middleton and hosted by Maple Bluff Country Club. The always fun event features dual team formats with plenty of action to go around. Each foursome competed in a two of four net best ball event, while the professional in each group was paired up with each of their amateurs in a one of two net best ball contest.

A Big Playoff Birdie Gives Mia Seeman The Women’s Open Win

Standing on the tee with a driver in her hand on the second hole of her sudden-death playoff with Grace Suter for the Sentry Wisconsin State Women’s Open Championship Wednesday, Mia Seeman pictured the shot she needed to hit.

The dogleg-right par-4 – the second hole on the Links Course at the Golf Courses of Lawsonia in Green Lake – measures 295 yards on the scorecard, and it plays downhill.

Helminen Feels At Home At The Hornung’s

A Wisconsin PGA tradition, the Hornung’s Classic at South Hills G&CC in Fond du Lac made its annual appearance on the WPGA tournament calendar on Monday. This one was extra special, as the Hornung family and Hornung’s Golf Products was hosting WPGA professionals for the 50th edition. It was a perfect celebration of the milestone, with another great day of golf, competition and camaraderie. This year’s field brought together over 80 WPGA professionals to enjoy the day.

An Xtra Special Performance

With the golf season in full swing the Wisconsin PGA was back on course on Monday as The Suter Ward Group at Morgan Stanley Pro-Am visited The Club at Strawberry Creek. The always popular event and venue drew in another sold-out crowd of 116 players. The day also marked the third 4-player pro-am in the past four weeks, and gave teams another chance to grab a spot into the coveted Oliphant Golf Management Pro-Am Championship.

Tuckaway Takes Home The Spring Pro-Ladies Title

It was another great day for golf on Tuesday as the first of the two annual WPGA Pro-Ladies events took place. The spring edition brought together another sold-out field of twenty-four groups, to enjoy Hawks Landing GC in Verona. After missing on the chance to host in 2020 due to the tournament being canceled, the club was back hosting the event for the first time since 2016.

Crowley & Fitzgibbon Bombard Bristlecone With Birdies

The always fun Legend Challenge – Scratch Pro-Am made its return to the WPGA schedule on Tuesday. After last year’s event was canceled, the 2021 edition was bound to have a great field of talented golfers from throughout the section. In total, fifty-two teams would be fighting it out in the one better ball of two gross format.

Geneva National Squad Overpowers Oneida

The Wisconsin PGA 4-player pro-am series hit the road again on Monday as this week’s trip took the series to Green Bay for the X Golf Oneida Pro-Am. Twenty-eight teams from throughout the section were looking to card a top notch score on the tricky old school layout.

Beautiful weather and a great venue was all that was needed for another fun day on the WPGA pro-am circuit. Monday’s event brought a sold-out field to Trappers Turn GC in Wisconsin Dells. With ripe scoring conditions the Lake and Canyon courses were there for the taking.
