TRAPPERS TURN PRO-AM
EVENT PARTNERS

(Wade Oberle, Rick Hagen and Jason Ryan)

Beautiful weather and a great venue was all that was needed for another fun day on the WPGA pro-am circuit. Monday’s event brought a sold-out field to Trappers Turn GC in Wisconsin Dells. With ripe scoring conditions the Lake and Canyon courses were there for the taking.

Taking advantage of those conditions the best was the foursome of Mark Voeller, Wade Oberle, Jason Ryan and Rick Hagen. The squad would cruise past the field in the 2-net best ball team format. Their 19-under-par 125 was good enough to provide them with a six shot win over the Jeff Bisbee and Ryan Helminen led teams. The winning team was truly “En Fuego” for almost the entire day as they played 13 holes under par. The most of impressive may have come on the always difficult Canyon no. 1, as Hagen and Ryan both made net eagle for the team.

The amateur contributions for the winning team were indeed impressive but they couldn’t have grabbed the win without their team professional pitching in. For Voeller he was able to card a 3-under-par 69, which would win the low senior professional contest and tie Joe Leonard for the low professional contest.

The WPGA would like to express its appreciation to Trappers Turn GC and their staff for hosting. The club rolled out a great product for the participants to enjoy and also took it upon themselves to recruit event partners, Frank Beer Distributors and Tito’s Vodka.
