Michael O’Reilly Elected The 32nd Wisconsin PGA President

Michael O’Reilly was elected as the 32nd Wisconsin PGA president on Monday morning at the association’s fall board of directors meeting. The PGA director of golf operations at Kohler Golf is taking over the reigns from Jeff Ellingson of Edelweiss Chalet CC. Ellingson wrapped up a modified 2 1/2 year term as president, which was extended to include the 2020 Ryder Cup. O’Reilly is approaching the start of his 19th year as a PGA member and has served on the association’s board of directors since 2012. He has been honored by the section in the past with the golf professional of the year award and player development honor.

Four WPGA Members Set To Compete In The Senior PGA Professional Championship

The 33rd Senior PGA Professional Championship presented by Cadillac and supported by the GOLF Channel will kick off on Thursday, October 21 at PGA Golf Club in St. Lucie, FL.  The event features 264 PGA Professionals who are at least 50 years of age, representing 42 different states. Leading the way for the Wisconsin Section PGA is Kurt Mantyla, Michael Crowley, John Freeman and Jim Schuman. The foursome will be led by Mantyla, as he earned his spot in the field with a victory at the 2021 Wisconsin Senior PGA Professional Championship back in July at Morningstar GC.

Madison North — PGA Jr. League Section Champs!

The PGA Jr. League Wisconsin Section Championship presented by National Car Rental concluded last week at Blackhawk Country Club in Madison, Wisconsin. Five WPGA Professionals Set To Compete In The 54th PGA Professional Championship

The 2021 PGA Professional Championship kicks off on Sunday, April 25 at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, FL. The championship returns after the 2020 version was canceled due to Covid-19. The Wisconsin PGA will be represented by five professionals in this year’s 312 player field. Each individual earned a spot into the event with their play at the Wisconsin PGA Professional Championship last September.

WPGA Junior Foundation Announces Open Registration For 2021 Tournaments

The Wisconsin Section of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America (WPGA) Junior Foundation (https://www.wiscjuniorgolf.com/) announces open registration for the Junior Golf Tournament Series in timing with the start of one of the biggest seasons for golf in Wisconsin.

Open registration for the WPGA Junior Golf Tournament Series begins April 20. Registration for members began March 31 and registration is currently pacing at a record pace.

Wisconsin PGA to award a Wisconsin State Open Exemption to the Wisconsin State Women’s Open Champion

The Wisconsin Section of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America (WPGA) announces an additional exemption for the 2021 Wisconsin State Open Championship. The WPGA Tournament Policy Board voted unanimously to provide the 2021 Wisconsin State Women’s Open Champion with an exemption into the field for the 101st Suter Ward Group at Morgan Stanley Wisconsin State Open hosted on August 16-18 at Blackwolf Run – Meadow Valleys (Kohler) & Pine Hills Country Club (Sheboygan).
