Wisconsin PGA Releases 2023 Tournament Schedule

The Wisconsin PGA proudly presents the 2023 tournament schedule. This year’s calendar is full of terrific venues, various formats, and competitions that cater to both professionals and amateurs. Whether it be the major championships, professional only events, or pro-ams, the schedule has something for everyone. Consistent with the past, the season gets underway with the annual WPGA Las Vegas Pro-Am in early March and concludes in mid-October with the Fall Pro-Pro Scramble.

Bach & Barr Set Their Sights On The National Assistants Championship

The 46th edition of the National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship gets underway on Thursday, November 17. This year’s championship returns to PGA Golf Club for the 27th straight year. The 72 hole tournament will take place on the Wanamaker Course and feature 132 assistant professionals from across the 41 PGA sections.

ICYMI – Barnett-Howe, Jenson & Hadfield Join The Wisconsin Golf Hall of Fame

On the final Saturday of October a group of family, friends, and individuals with ties to the Wisconsin golf industry gathered to honor this year’s inductees of the Wisconsin Golf Hall of Fame.

Pushing the total number of inductees over the 100 threshold were Carolyn Barnett-Howe, John Jenson and Frances Hadfield. The resume of each inductee is impressive, while representing different generations and backgrounds in the game.

Four WPGA Members Head West For The Senior PGA Professional Championship

The 34th Senior PGA Professional Championship presented by Cadillac and supported by the GOLF Channel will kick off on Thursday, October 13 at Twin Warriors and Santa Ana Golf Clubs in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico. The event features 264 PGA Professionals who are at least 50 years of age, from 41 PGA sections and 46 states.

The first of the final two pro-pro events of the season would see the duos attempt to tackle the newly renovated Abbey Springs GC in Fontana. The 2022 WPGA four-player pro-am season wrapped up on Monday, with the playing of the 7th annual Oliphant Golf Management Pro-Am Championship. Once again a full field of twenty-nine teams would make their way to The GC’s of Lawsonia to enjoy the always fun Links Course. The field would be made up of teams that earned their way into the championship throughout the regular season, along with a few additional invitees.

The Wisconsin PGA continued their countdown to the end of the tournament season with the always fun Premier Golf & Utility Vehicles Pro-Assistant on Monday. Over 100 players from throughout the Wisconsin Section made their way to central Wisconsin to enjoy SentryWorld. The players were treated to a first class experience from start to finish. From the fantastic course conditions to the inclusive on-course amenities, the players were definitely impressed.
