Mark Voeller was unanimously elected as the 33rd Wisconsin PGA president on Monday morning at the association’s fall board of directors meeting. The PGA professional and manager at Golf Galaxy Brookfield is taking over the presidency from Michael O’Reilly of Kohler Golf. O’Reilly wrapped up a two year term that included the Wisconsin PGA’s centennial and fundraising campaign in conjunction with it. He also played a key role in a marketing initiative that ran during the past five years, which promoted Wisconsin PGA professionals and careers in golf.

The 35th Senior PGA Professional Championship presented by Cadillac and supported by the GOLF Channel will kick off on Thursday, October 26. This year’s championship will once again take place on the Wanamaker and Ryder Courses at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, FL. It marks the 14th time that PGA Golf Club has hosted the championship.

The stage is set and SentryWorld is ready to put on a great show for the best golfers in the world 50 and over. It has been approximately two and half years since the the USGA awarded the U.S. Senior Open to SentryWorld and the event week is finally here. The course has previously held the 1986 U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links, 2019 U.S. Girls’ Junior and numerous WSGA and WPGA championships. Later this August the course will also host the 103rd Suter Ward Group at Morgan Stanley Wisconsin State Open.

The 2023 PGA Professional Championship kicks off on Sunday, April 30 at Twin Warriors and Santa Ana Golf Clubs in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico. The Wisconsin PGA will be represented by five PGA professionals in this year’s 312 player field. Each individual earned a spot into the event with their play at the Wisconsin PGA Professional Championship last September.

Brendan Locke, PGA has been selected as a part of the the 2023-’24 PGA LEAD Class. The GOLFTEC Wisconsin owner will be one of fifteen PGA members on the committee, who will look to further the PGA’s commitment to diversity in governance and volunteer leadership.

The WPGA Las Vegas Pro-Am wrapped up late last week after four days of golf, camaraderie and entertainment. A sold-out field of fifty teams made the trip out west for a little fun. Each squad consisted of one WPGA professional and four amateurs. The event also marked the first time the Wisconsin PGA conducted a lottery for spots into the field. Over seventy-five Wisconsin PGA professionals expressed interest in attending this year’s event.

The Wisconsin Section of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America (WPGA) proudly announces their class of 2023 Special Award recipients. Recognizing individuals for their expertise, service, dedication, and performance in the golf business, highlighting eleven PGA professionals from the state from a record number of applicants. The honorees formally receive their awards during the annual WPGA Special Awards Dinner held at Blackwolf Run in Kohler on February 27.

The Wisconsin PGA proudly presents the 2023 tournament schedule. This year’s calendar is full of terrific venues, various formats, and competitions that cater to both professionals and amateurs. Whether it be the major championships, professional only events, or pro-ams, the schedule has something for everyone. Consistent with the past, the season gets underway with the annual WPGA Las Vegas Pro-Am in early March and concludes in mid-October with the Fall Pro-Pro Scramble.

The Wisconsin Section of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America (WPGA) announces the 2022 Players of the Year. It was once again an exciting journey to crown this year’s honorees. The road to claim this year’s titles began in April and wrapped up in the late fall. Amazingly each race was up for grabs until the very end of the season.
