The Manuel de la Torre trophy has taken up residence at Blackwolf Run once again. Dan Hastreiter and Josh Grisa grabbed their third Reyes Retail Pro-Assistant victory on Monday.

Scoring was tight for the majority of this week’s Wisconsin PGA Professional Championship at stingy Ozaukee CC, but Tuesday afternoon the birdies began to land along Milwaukee’s North Shore.

The Cheese Open Pro-Am returned to the WPGA schedule for the first time since 2013 on Monday. Twenty-Eight foursomes made the trek to Monroe Golf Club for a great day of golf, camaraderie, and competition.

Back for the second straight season, the Assistant Professional Fall Classic would offer A-8 WPGA members and PGA associates one last individual playing opportunity against their peers in 2025. Friday’s event took place at Oshkosh Country Club. It marked the Wisconsin PGA’s first visit to the club since the Wisconsin PGA Assistant Professional Championship in 2012. 

Michael Crowley, one of the top players in the Wisconsin PGA Section for the better part of a decade, hadn’t been playing to his usual lofty standards for much of 2025. His driver started playing hooky — the dreaded, hard-turning right-to-left shot that better players detest — and his wedge game lacked the precision that is the hallmark of elite golfers.

After about a three-month delay due to a weather postponement, the 18th Legend Challenge – Scratch Pro-Am was finally completed on Tuesday. The sold-out 56-team field took on The Legend at Bristlecone layout for the second straight season. The wait turned out to be well worth it, as sunshine and mild temperatures gave the players a great day for golf.

The five players who held or shared the lead at various points in the final round of the 105th Wisconsin State Open combined to make 17 bogeys, 16 birdies, two eagles and one triple-bogey Wednesday on the Meadow Valleys Course at Blackwolf Run.

With the Milwaukee area battling severe flooding, there were definitely doubts that the Summer-Pro Ladies – Five Player Event would take place as scheduled on Monday. Fortunately, the event was set to visit one of the best draining courses in the area, Washington County GC.

Young golf pro Davis Jensen has lived in Wisconsin for only a few years, but he surely knew of Mick Smith and Jim Schuman and their numerous tournament victories here when he arrived at Hidden Glen GC on Wednesday.

The Wisconsin PGA Four-Player Pro-Am Series was back in action on Monday after a four-week break. The resumption of the series was highlighted by trip to the Fox Valley and a stop at Green Bay Country Club for the first time since 2014.
