In his seventh try Mick Smith found the success he had been seeking at the Hornung’s Classic on Monday. The Australian along with 86 other WPGA professionals teed it up at the 54th edition of the event at South Hills G&CC. The field was stacked with the top players in the Section, which forced him to be on top of his game to get the win.

The Wisconsin PGA was excited to be back in the Northwest part of the state on Monday, as a full field of pro-am teams ventured to Eau Claire G&CC. It marked the first time a Wisconsin PGA pro-am type of event has visited Eau Claire G&CC since the final year of the Buick Scramble. 

The WPGA Pro-Ladies Series was excited to be back in action on Tuesday, as the Spring Four-Player event visited Nakoma Golf Club in Madison. It turned out to be a nice day for golf for the sold-out field of 26 foursomes from throughout the Wisconsin Section. 

The Wisconsin PGA Four-Player Pro-Am Series was back on course on Monday, as the series made the trip to Kohler Golf for its annual event. With the Suter Ward Group at Morgan Stanley Wisconsin State Open taking place in August, the event would temporarily shift to mid-May. It marked the fifth time that the event would be played on the Meadow Valleys Course at Blackwolf Run.

A cool and overcast morning would greet the participants of the first individual Wisconsin PGA Player of the Year point event on Monday. For the eighth straight year the Assistant Professional Stroke Play and Memorial Classic would share a date, venue and time. The annual stroke play events would again bring together a field of 100 Wisconsin PGA professionals. Once again the day was supported by the gracious support of the Wisconsin Golf Salespersons Association and Rolex.

The Wisconsin PGA teamed up with the Wisconsin Golf Course Superintendents Association to present the Premier Golf & Utility Vehicles Super-Pro for the 24th time on Wednesday. This year’s edition would visit first-time host, River Club of Mequon. It marked the fourth straight year the event had taken place in the metro Milwaukee area. 

The Wisconsin PGA Four-Player Pro-Am Series would make its 2025 debut on Monday with the National Golf Graphics Pro-Am. Another sold-out field of 29 teams helped celebrate the kickoff to the season. The season-starter would venture back to a familiar spot. After hosting the first pro-am of the season for numerous years in the 90s and 00s, West Bend CC would play host once again.

Josh Grisa and David Bach were back at it on Monday with their Pro-Pro magic. The duo would take down a field of 52 other teams at the Spring Pro-Pro Better Ball and Four-Ball Match Play Qualifying at Beloit Club.

It was another successful start to the Wisconsin PGA tournament season on Monday. For the first time since being added to the tournament schedule in 2019, the Spring Pro-Pro Scramble featured a sold-out field. Fifty-two teams made their way to Meadowbrook Country Club in Racine, to enjoy a great day of camaraderie and competition.

The 37th Annual WPGA Las Vegas Pro-Am wrapped up late last week. It was another great week in Sin City, as a sold out field enjoyed plenty of golf, camaraderie and good times.
