The Wisconsin Section PGA recently announced plans to recognize a few key individuals in the state golf community who are not PGA of America members but nonetheless have made significant contributions to the game and the section. The Wisconsin PGA annually presents a slate of awards to members, but these honors are different.

Danny Rainbow, Director of Golf at SentryWorld in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, and a Member of the Wisconsin PGA Section, is the recipient of the 2025 PGA of America Merchandiser of the Year Award – Resort Category. The award recognizes PGA of America Golf Professionals who have excelled in business and merchandising in the promotion of golf.

It doesn’t matter what you do for a living or who signs your paycheck. Earning the respect of your peers brings a feeling of pride that can be difficult to fully explain in the moment.

Few country clubs in Wisconsin have enjoyed stability among their PGA head professionals quite as much as Ozaukee Country Club in Mequon, which has had four men serve in that capacity since 1965.

The 48th playing of the National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship will visit PGA Golf Club on Thursday-Sunday, November 14-17. This year’s championship will venture back to the Port St. Lucie, FL club for the 29th straight year.

Jacob Babcock, Tim Boegh, Molly Braid and Bobby Peterson were recently recognized as rising stars in the golf instructor category. The four Wisconsin PGA members claimed a spot on the Golf Digest Best Young Teachers in America list for 2025-2026 in early October.

The 36th Senior PGA Professional Championship will kick off on Thursday, September 26. This year’s championship heads west as it will be hosted on the Meadows and Woodlands at Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Oregon.

The 84th playing of the Senior PGA Championship will get underway on Thursday, May 23 and run until Sunday, May 26 at Harbor Shores Golf Club in Michigan. Five Wisconsin natives have made the short journey over to Benton Harbor and will be teeing it up this week.
