(David Roesch & Jack Schultz)

The Legend Challenge – Scratch Pro-Am truly lived up to its name on Tuesday as the field of thirty-two teams had quite the challenge on their hands.  The two-player teams attempted to tackle The Legend at Brandybrook while battling some fierce conditions in the one of two better ball format.  With winds gusting up to 30 mph and temperatures only hovering around 50 degrees, birdies were a tough to come by commodity and pars were a welcomed sight.

Navigating those conditions the best were two players that know how to succeed in this event.  The duo of David Roesch and Jack Schultz captured their third title in the past four years and fifth overall on Tuesday.  The winning mark this time around was 8-under-par 64.  Their bogey-free round included birdies on all the par 5s and a difference making eagle on the 388 yard par 4, 7th.   The score was good enough to win by three shots over former champions Ryan Helminen/Matt Gerlach and Craig Czerniejewski/Tom Halla.

Helping make the day possible were event partners Premier Golf & Utility Vehicles and the PGA Tour.  A big thank you goes out to both of them for their support and contributions.  The event also gave Premier Golf & Utility Vehicles a chance to let players enjoy the new “Shark Experience” in the Club Cars on site.

Taking their turn in the site rotation was the original Legend Club, The Legend at Brandybrook.  The club and its staff did another great job of rolling out the red carpet to all the attendees that participated.   This year marked the 12th straight season that The Legend Clubs have hosted the event, and the WPGA truly appreciates their commitment to the annual event.
