HORNUNG’S CLASSIC
EVENT PARTNERS

(Bob Hornung Jr. and David Roesch)

The great play by David Roesch at the Hornung’s Classic continued for a second straight year on Monday.  With ideal scoring conditions the Storm’s Golf Range teaching professional had it going and nobody was going to stop his quest for back to back wins.

In the end his 8-under-par 63 was good enough to win by three shots over Tom Burton and Eddie Terasa.  The 2004 Wisconsin State Open champion was looking at a possible course record until a couple late birdie misses and his lone bogey.  His scorecard was highlighted by a stretch where he carded seven birdies in eight holes from no. 8 until 15.  With the win he was able to take home the $1,350 winner’s check.

For Terasa his 5-under-66 was good enough to grab the top honor in the senior division.

Presenting the 48th edition of the Hornung’s Classic was Hornung’s Golf Products.  The company along with their representatives did another fantastic job of making sure it was a top notch day.  The event offered another great value with a terrific purse, nice food spread afterwards and a few giveaways to wrap up the day.  Taking home a couple brand new Garmin units from a random draw were Jeff Bisbee and Ryan Helminen.

In addition to thanking Bob Hornung Jr. and the Hornung’s Golf Products company the WPGA would also like to thank longtime host South Hills G&CC and their membership.  The course is presently getting a face lift and Monday was a nice chance for all the participants to see the new changes.
