“I am so excited to get recognized, and I am so thankful that I am a recipient of the PGA scholarship. It means a lot to me as an incoming college freshman because it shows that all around me I have people that believe in my ability to succeed as I embark on my academic college experience, ” quotes Cassidy Kramp, daughter of PGA Professional Kevin Kramp. She will be entering his first year at UW-Madison as an Evans Scholar in the fall.
Taylor Leach, also a fellow Badger, will graduate this coming school year with her pre-medical undergraduate degree at UW-Madison. Her brother Tyler Leach will be starting his career at Marquette University this fall as he joins their Men’s Golf team while studying business. Kathryn Stupar continues her studies at St. Cloud University while being on the swim team. The sophomore is majoring in psychology and communication.
Established in 1986, the program provides college scholarships for children and grandchildren of PGA Members. It encourages and promotes the attainment of higher educational goals for the children and grandchildren of PGA Members, based on evidence of a high level of academic achievement during high school or college. This year, due to available funds from our endowment, we will be giving out a total of $402,000 in scholarships. There will be 186 scholarships awarded.
The PGA Financial Assistance Fund is able to grow solely through investment earnings and contributions from our PGA Members. Members are given the option of contributing to the PGA Financial Assistance Fund on their Member Dues each year. Your encouragement of their contribution will help us to grow the fund and, in turn, provide more PGA Scholarships to Member’s children and grandchildren in the future.
