Jessie Gulden, Lindsey Huettl, Heidi Hinners and Jeff Kaiser
The two-event Wisconsin PGA Pro-Ladies series would come to a close on Monday. As the final event would venture to Madison and Blackhawk CC. After a five-player event in the spring at The Legend at Bristlecone, the summer version would feature four-player teams.
Twenty-five teams would enjoy a perfect day overlooking Lake Mendota.
Taking home this year’s title was the Jeff Kaiser led group of Heidi Hinners, Jessie Gulden and Lindsey Huettl. With plenty of course knowledge between Kaiser and Hinners, the foursome would end up carding a 16-under-par 128 in the two net better ball format.
Included in their climb to the top of the leaderboard was an impressive closing stretch. They would play their final four holes at 8-under-par. The handicap strokes certainly helped but their stellar play would start with every player in the group posting a gross score in the 70s.
Their team score would be good enough to win by two shots over the Matt Hartmann led Blackhawk CC team.
With the switch to the four-player contest in 2024, Kaiser and his group are the first pro-ladies team to be invited to play in the Oliphant Golf Management Pro-Am Championship.
Not only did their team take home the main contest but Kaiser also captured the low professional stableford event. His 2-under-par 70 would deliver him 38 stableford points and a two-point win over five other professionals. Included in that group were the low senior professionals on the day, Charlie Brown and Kurt Mantyla.
In addition to the standard team contest and low pro events, the day would also feature some closest to the pin contests for the lady amateurs. Taking home a nice pair of Asics Gel-Kayano Ace Golf Shoes from XXIO and Asics were:
#4 – Mary Moase
#16 – Karen Schmid
#18 – Peg Carlson
The day also featured a nice random draw giveaway for a new Vessel Tito’s Vodka branded golf bag. Having lady lucky shine on her and winning the bag was Sally Schnarr.
The WPGA would like to express our appreciation to XXIO Golf and Tito’s Vodka for supporting this year’s Pro-Ladies – Summer Event. In addition, we’d like to thank everyone at Blackhawk CC for always being a gracious and willing host site.
