A late addition to the 2020 Wisconsin PGA Pro-Am schedule, the Woodlands Lawsonia Pro-Am brought together twenty one teams to compete on Monday. It was a nice day for golf and the teams had their sights set on trying to qualify for the year-end Oliphant Golf Management Pro-Am Championship on the neighboring Links Course.
Navigating their way through the corridors of the Woodlands the best, was the foursome of Corey Feller, Chris Schlies, Patrick Ambroso and Jesse Troestler. The High Cliff GC squad got hot and never looked back in the two net format. They scorched their opening nine holes as they went 11-under-par. With consistently good play the rest of the way they ended up with no holes played over par and a total of 18-under-par 126. The score was good enough to win by two shots over the Ryan Helminen and Kyle Nielsen led teams.
The victory helped them earn one of the two coveted spots in the aforementioned championship. Grabbing the other spot was the next highest eligible finishing team led by Ryan Wieme.
In the low pro game it would be Helminen leading the way with a 3-under-par 69. Pacing the over 50 professional field was Michael Crowley with a 1-over-par 73.
A big thank you goes out Oliphant Golf Management and The GC’s of Lawsonia for hosting this last minute addition to the WPGA schedule. The course was in great shape and the club provided a nice product for the players to enjoy.
