The Wisconsin PGA pro-am circuit was back in action on Monday with clear skies and perfect temperatures. A sold out field of thirty-two teams made the trip to longtime pro-am host West Bend Country Club, where they enjoyed a fun day at the Morgan Stanley Pro-Am presented by the Vince Suter Group and supported by Under Armour Golf. It was quite a change compared to the original mid-May date which was forced to be canceled due to unplayable conditions from rain and cold temperatures.

Even though the perfect conditions were ripe for scoring, the Langford and Moreau design held it’s own with no one breaking into the 120s. Making the the home club proud and taking home the win was the group James Komorowski, Todd Fiorentino, Steve Albinger and Jim Gardner. In the two net best ball format the winning team was able to post a 13-under-par 131 score. The squad was matched by the Bisbee’s Golf Center foursome but in the end the WBCC team was able to come out on top after a scorecard playoff.

With their play both of the squads were able to punch their ticket into the 3rd annual Oliphant Golf Management Pro-Am Championship on October 1st. Grabbing the third and final spot into the championship was the Michael Crowley led Morningstar GC group.

In the low professional competition it was the trio of Ryan Helminen, Charlie Brown and Mick Smith leading the way. Each professional was able to put up a 1-under-par 71 to take home $430. For Brown he was able to double dip as he also took home the low senior professional honors.

In addition to the aforementioned contests the day also featured some fun closest to the hole competitions on all the par 3s for the amateurs in the field. Taking home the prizes compliments of the Vince Suter Group were Wade Oberle (#4), Peter West (#8), Jim Rawski (#13) and Jim Gardner (#17).

Helping make Monday’s event possible was Financial Advisor and Vice President Vince Suter of Morgan Stanley and Dave Denoyer of Under Armour Golf. The two sponsors teamed up to put on a fantastic show for all the attendees. From top notch tee gifts to a great purse, the event did not disappoint. A big thank you goes out to each of them for their continued support of the Wisconsin PGA.

A great deal of gratitude also goes out to West Bend CC and the staff onsite for their efforts with the event. The course was in fantastic shape, which gave the players quite the product to enjoy.
