RACINE DOUBLE DIP PRO-AM
EVENT PARTNERS

Ahead USA

(Mark Voeller, Rick Hagen, Wade Oberle & Jason Ryan)

Unfortunately Mother Nature rained on the parade on the 112 attendees of the Racine CC Double Dip Pro-Am on Monday.  The inclement weather forced a delayed start and premature ending to an otherwise great day.  For the four hours in between the thunderstorms the field was busy enjoying the great course conditions at RCC.

In the end the event had to be altered from its original format.  The main 2 of 4 net contest had to be reduced to the first 14 holes played by the groups.  Standings were then based off the number under par the group was during those 14 holes.  After all the scores had been tabulated it was the group of Mark Voeller, Rick Hagen, Wade Oberle and Jason Ryan coming out on top.  They were able to post a 13-under-par result which gave them a one shot win over the Janesville CC squad.  With Voeller having already earned a spot in Oliphant Golf Management Pro-Am Championship, the next three teams grabbed a spot into the coveted championship.  Those teams were the Janesville CC, Kestrel Ridge GC and John Gaschke led Nakoma GC foursomes.

The 1 of 2 net best ball format, low professional, low senior professional and optional skins games all had to be cancelled as a result of the circumstances.

Helping support the Double Dip Pro-Am this year was the duo of Premier Golf & Utility Vehicles and Ahead.  Even though the weather didn’t cooperate the two companies were able to put together a great day.  Between the welcome gifts, nice food spread and purse, the day had a bunch of nice perks.  A big thank you goes out to all the Premier Golf & Utility Vehicles (Darrin DiChristopher, Steve Fischer & Ben Rudolph) and Ahead (Mark Bearby & Wade Coplin) representatives.

A great deal of appreciation also goes out to the staff and membership at Racine CC.  The club always does a terrific job of hosting and Monday was no exception.  From letting the carts go with the wet conditions to providing a nice arrangement of food before and after play, the club had it covered.
