It was another great day for golf on Tuesday as the first of the two annual WPGA Pro-Ladies events took place. The spring edition brought together another sold-out field of twenty-four groups, to enjoy Hawks Landing GC in Verona. After missing out on the chance to host in 2020 due to the tournament being canceled, the club was back hosting the event for the first time since 2016.
Running away with this the 1st place trophies was the Tuckaway Country Club group of Emily Jahimiak, Madeline Schmidt, Lisa Sperka, Julie Berquist and Victor Jacinto. The fivesome blitzed the field with a seven shot win the the two net best ball contest. They piled up 18 net birdies and 4 net eagles on the way to their impressive 24-under-par 120 score. Finishing in second place was The Legend at Bergamont group with Zach Hentrich.
In the low pro and low senior pro contests it would be Kurt Mantyla sweeping the board. His 6-under-par 66 would feature eight birdies. His next closest pursuer in the low pro game was Mike Arsenault, just two shots back.
A big thank you goes out to Hawks Landing GC and Dahmen’s Restaurant for being a gracious host on Tuesday.
