THE LEGEND CHALLENGE
SCRATCH PRO-AM
EVENT PARTNERS

(David Roesch, Steve Fischer of Premier Golf & Utility Vehicles and Jack Schultz)

The Legend Challenge – Two Person Scratch Pro-Am made its annual appearance on the WPGA tournament schedule on Tuesday. It marked the fourteenth time that the event has taken place in its current format, and with The Legend Clubs hosting rotation.

This year’s event would visit The Legend at Brandybrook, the fifth time the Wales venue has hosted.

It turned out to a be cool spring day with a steady southeast wind. Definitely not the most ideal scoring conditions.

However a team that has a familiar history and level of success was able to pull off the title once again. David Roesch and Jack Schultz captured the title for the sixth time. Amazingly it is the fourth time they have won at The Legend Brandybrook. The duo carded an impressive 9-under-par 62 in the four-ball stroke play format. The bogey free round would see Schultz put up a course tying record of 63 on his own ball. Finishing three shots shy of the winning mark and placing in the runner-up position were the twosomes of Luke Scharf and Don Horn plus Erik Stenseth and Garrett Jones.

Although the Stenseth and Jones team would come up short, they would have quite the memorable moment on the par-5 13th. From 207 yards out Jones would knock in a 6-iron for an albatross/double eagle.

A big thank you goes out to Premier Golf & Utility Vehicles and the PGA Tour for their support of Tuesday’s event. In addition the WPGA would like to express its appreciation to The Legend Clubs for always being a gracious host.
