National Golf Graphics

(Rob Vega, Peter Meyer, Dan Wubbels & Dan Gille)

Monday produced another great day at the course for all the attendees of the annual National Golf Graphics Pro-Am.  This year’s edition featured a trip to Nakoma Golf Club, as players tried to tackle the small, firm and fast greens.  The twenty-seven teams truly represented all areas of the section, with players making the trek from clubs such as Eau Claire G&CC, SentryWorld and Northbrook GC.

This year’s format once again featured a stableford point contest with a slight change to counting the best 3 scores for the group on each hole.  The point system awarded 1 point for a net bogey, 2 points for a net par, 4 points for a net birdie, 6 points for a net eagle and 8 points for a net double eagle or better.

Putting up the highest score and grabbing the win was the squad representing National Golf Graphics.  Rob Vega, Peter Meyer, Dan Wubbels and Dan Gille were able to earn an impressive 130 points.  The score was good enough to hold off the Brad Peck led Nakoma GC squad by 5 points.

Taking home the low professional win was Joe Leonard.  The Kestrel Ridge GC professional was the only player to break par on Monday and his 2-under-par 68 gave him an impressive 44 stableford points.  In the low senior professional event it was Andy Runkel and John Freeman tying at the top with 35 stableford points.

As for the low amateur net stableford game it was Mike Schlageter of Nakoma GC leading the way with 47 points.

In addition the day also featured some closest to the pin contests.  Taking home the prizes for those events were,

#2 – Dan Gille (Amateur)
#4 – Stan Mytych (Amateur)
#7 – Larry Kipfstuhl (Amateur)
#13 – Peter Meyer (Amateur)
#13 – Austin Gaugert (Pro)
#17 – Brian Wilsey (Amateur)
#17 – James Grogan (Pro)

Once again the day was made possible through the support of Peter Meyer and National Golf Graphics.  Peter put together another fantastic day and takes great pride in the event.  He wants to make sure everyone enjoys the course and all the additional parts of the day.  A big thank you goes out to Peter for his continued support of our July Pro-Am.

The WPGA would also like to acknowledge and thank Nakoma GC for hosting the National Golf Graphics Pro-Am again.  The club is always happy to open their doors and does a great job of hosting events by all the golf organizations throughout the state.
