SPRING PRO-LADIES
EVENT PARTNER

(Jill Trider, Karen Schmid, Sami Mantyla and Kurt Mantyla)

The Wisconsin PGA Spring Pro-Ladies event visited the River Club of Mequon on Tuesday, with the Highland and Woodland Courses providing the backdrop for a terrific day of competition and camaraderie.

A total of 26 foursomes participated in the event, with each team featuring one Wisconsin PGA professional and three lady amateurs. Players enjoyed excellent course conditions and great spring weather.

Kurt Mantyla of Naga-Waukee GC teamed up with Sami Mantyla, Karen Schmid, and Jill Trider to capture the title with an impressive 17-under-par team score, finishing two shots clear of the field. The victory also marked the third time since 2020 that the team members have been a part of a Wisconsin PGA Pro-Ladies championship team. With the win, the foursome also earned a spot in the year-end Oliphant Golf Management Pro-Am Championship.

Finishing in a tie for second place were the Brent Regis-led team from Watertown Country Club and the Lake Ripley Country Club team led by Jon Zellmer.

It was a complete team effort throughout the day, as the ladies on the winning squad combined for 9 net birdies and 3 net eagles. Kurt also turned in an outstanding individual performance, sweeping both the Low Professional and Low Senior Professional Stableford contests with 42 points after firing a phenomenal 6-under-par 66 that featured eight birdies.

Closest-to-the-pin honors were earned by Julie Schroeder on Highland #5, Ava Roesch on Highland #7, Kayleigh Dona on Woodland #4, and Jen Yamat on Woodland #8.

Special thanks to Wilson Golf and Tito’s Vodka for their generous support of the event and continued partnership with the Wisconsin PGA.

We’d also like to recognize and thank the River Club of Mequon and their staff for their efforts in hosting a wonderful event.
