The Wisconsin PGA was back at it on Tuesday as the rescheduled Pro-Ladies #1 – Spring Event took place at Geneva National GC’s Palmer Course.  After extremely wet conditions at Hidden Glen GC made golf cars unusable back in late May, the event was rescheduled for the new date.  With a conflict on their calendar Hidden Glen GC opted out of hosting and the 2019 Morgan Stanley Wisconsin State Open host site gladly took on the role.

Unfortunately the wet weather returned on Tuesday but it didn’t derail the full day.  After five holes of play the participants were forced into the clubhouse for a lengthy delay.  Once the weather had rolled through it was back at it and a push to finish before darkness.

Taking advantage of the soft conditions and posting the best two net score was a team made up of ladies from The Legend Clubs and the Wisconsin PGA’s Joe Stadler.  The fivesome was able to post a 15-under-par 129, which was good enough for a three shot win over the Brad Munn led Edelweiss Chalet CC team.  Joining Stadler on the winning squad was Alison Holub, Marilee Potter, Kelly Pfister and Nicole Jere.

The over 50 crowd led the way in both the low professional and low senior professional events on Tuesday.  Grabbing the top spot was Eddie Terasa with a 3-under-par 69, which was led by an impressive five birdies on the front nine.  Finishing just one shot back in a tie for second was Charlie Brown and Joe Stadler.

For the second straight season the Wisconsin PGA was fortunate to have Jo-Fit and the Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic on board as event partners.  The two companies did a fantastic job of dressing up the event and adding a nice touch onto several parts of the event.  One those items was six on-course contests for the winner’s choice of a Jo-Fit outfit.  Taking home those prizes were,

#3 – Closest to the Pin – Vickie Covelli
#5 – Longest Putt – Rachel Baker
#8 – Closest to the Pin – Laura Ottusch
#11 – Longest Putt – Jane Riesen
#13 – Closest to the Pin – Maria Klasinski
#16 – Closest to the Pin – Ginny Hilton

In addition to our event partners the WPGA would also like to thank everyone at Geneva National Resort and Club.  The club came to the rescue when a site was needed for the rescheduled event and the WPGA greatly appreciates that.
