The 84th playing of the Senior PGA Championship will get underway on Thursday, May 23 and run until Sunday, May 26 at Harbor Shores Golf Club in Michigan. Five Wisconsinites have made the short journey over to Benton Harbor and will be teeing it up this week.
Leading the way for the Wisconsin PGA will be Brad Lanning and Mick Smith. After making their major championship debuts at the U.S. Senior Open last summer the duo will be looking to capitalize on the experience they gained. Both players were able to make their way into the field via their play at the 2023 Senior PGA Professional Championship last October.
Also in the field are PGA Tour Champions players and former Wisconsin State Open Champions, Jerry Kelly, Steve Stricker and Mario Tiziani.
The field will battle it out for a $3.5 million purse, with the ultimate prize of getting their name etched on the coveted Alfred S. Bourne Trophy.
The 72-hole stroke play championship will feature a cut to the low 70 scores and ties after 36-holes.
It will be televised on the Golf Channel and NBC over the course of all four days and may be followed online at – https://www.srpgachampionship.com/
