The Manuel de la Torre trophy has taken up residence at Blackwolf Run once again. Dan Hastreiter and Josh Grisa grabbed their third Reyes Retail Pro-Assistant victory on Monday.
Among a sold-out field of 118 WPGA professionals, representing 41 different facilities, the team played some top-notch golf to get the win in the traditional division.
Their better ball score featured eight birdies and one eagle at Tuckaway CC. Grisa led way with five birdies and an eagle, most of which came on the back-nine. Hastreiter did his part too, as he contributed three birdies to the team score.
Their only blemish came on the par-4 3rd, when both players made bogey. The 9-under-par 63 better ball score was good enough to win by three shots.
Finishing in second place was the Bishops Bay CC duo of John Shipshock and Barrett Kelpin.
It marked the third time the two-man team has won the traditional division of the Pro-Assistant in the past five years. For their play they took home $1,000 each.
Earning the division two win was Barry Linhart and Jim Schuman of Blue Mound G&CC. They carded a 6-under-par 66. Bouncing back from an opening double-bogey on no. 10, they carded eight birdies on their final 17 holes.
In addition, the day also featured some proxy contests on par 3s. Taking home a new Yeti Mini Cooler from Reyes Retail were:
#5 – Tony Zuba
#8 – Jeff Perry
#14 – Matt Reel
#17 – Andrew Krugler
The Wisconsin PGA would like to thank Josue’ Reyes, PGA and Reyes Retail for jumping on board as this year’s title partner. Reyes along with the Wisconsin State Golf Association and The PGA Tour, helped provide a great purse and some nice enhancements for all the players.
A good deal of gratitude also goes out to everyone at 2026 Wisconsin State Open host site, Tuckaway CC. The course was in terrific shape and Monday’s event was a nice opportunity to showcase some of the club’s most recent changes.
