SPRING PRO-PRO
BETTER BALL
EVENT PARTNERS

Josh Grisa and David Bach were back at it on Monday with their Pro-Pro magic. The duo would take down a field of 52 other teams at the Spring Pro-Pro Better Ball and Four-Ball Match Play Qualifying at Beloit Club.

On a gusty day where players were faced with tricky crosswinds, the duo went bogey-free over the course of 18 holes of better ball. Each player would shoot 69 on their own ball, resulting in an 8-under-par 64 better ball.

Bach would bring three birdies and an eagle on the par-5 15th to the table, while Grisa kicked in his own three birdies. In addition, for the few holes where the other player made bogey, their partner was right there to back them up with a birdie or par.

It marks the fourth time in the past five years that Grisa and Bach have claimed at least a share of the Spring Pro-Pro Better Ball title. Each victory has come at a place they’ve become quite comfortable, the Beloit Club.

Finishing two shots behind the victorious team was Cody Strang and Wyatt Wilderman.

In addition to the battle for the title, the day also featured some secondary contests. One of those was qualifying for the Four-Ball Match Play. Teams had to opt in to the contest in order to be eligible. 48 teams fought to claim one of the 32 spots in the field.

The bracket will be officially rolled out later this week, with Grisa and Bach holding the no. 1 seed designation. Teams will then arrange matches throughout the season until a champion is crowned in late September/early October.

In another secondary contest, a big shout-out goes to JT Thompson. JT holed out from 40 yards for eagle on the par-5 8th hole, to claim the lone skin of the day and take home $1,060 between him and his partner, Andrew Krugler.

Lastly, a few closest to the pin contests added in some extra fun. Taking home some great Bushnell Golf prizes were:

#3 – Sam Weatherhead
#10 – Jason Tipton

The WPGA would like to express our appreciation to our four event partners, who helped make it a great day. Harris Golf Cars, Bushnell Golf, XXIO, and Shade Headwear were a key part of the event, and their support did not go unnoticed.

A big thank you out also goes out to everyone at Beloit Club. The club has been nice enough to host the Spring Pro-Pro Better Ball five of the past nine seasons.
