The 31st Senior PGA Professional Championship presented by Cadillac and supported by John Deere and GolfAdvisor will kick off on Thursday, October 3rd at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa. The event features 264 PGA Professionals who are at least 50 years of age, representing 42 different states.
Leading the way for the Wisconsin Section PGA is Jim Schuman, Eddie Terasa, Brad Peck and Steve Scheel. The foursome will again be led by Schuman, as he earned his spot in the field with a victory at the 2019 Wisconsin Senior PGA Professional Championship back in July at Old Hickory GC.
The 72-hole Championship will run from Thursday until Sunday, with players competing for a purse of $300,000. Each player will play one round each the Fazio Foothillls and Coore Crenshaw courses over the course of the first two days. Then after the second round of play the field will be cut to the low 90 players and ties. Then after 54 holes of play the field will be cut to the low 70 and ties. The final two rounds of play will take place on the Fazio Foothills course.
Also at stake is a chance to qualify for the 2020 Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid next May. The low 35 players will earn a chance to tee it up at the first senior major championship of the year.
