XXIO ONEIDA
DOUBLE DIP PRO-AM
TITLE SPONSOR

(Ken Lubinski, Corey Feller, Mike Morrissey & Brian Shepro)

With a doom and gloom forecast, the odds of completing the XXIO Double Dip Pro-Am at the beginning of Monday were not looking good. Fortunately for the participants that made the trek to Oneida G&CC, the storms would stay away just enough for the event to be completed. The event did feature a short delay prior to play starting but overall it turned out to be a decent day for golf.

For those that attended, they would be treated to a nicely conditioned golf course, some great food, and the always fun double dip format.

Once again the tournament would be full of action, as seven different contests would be featured. The dual team formats would include each foursome participating in a two net best ball event. Then the professional on the team would be paired up with each amateur in a one net of two game. There also would be three skin games and low professional/low senior professional contests.

Navigating their way to the top of the leaderboard for a second straight double dip four-player title was the squad from High Cliff GC. Corey Feller, Ken Lubinski, Mike Morrissey and new addition Brian Shepro would card an impressive 18-under-par 126 on Monday. The two-net better ball score would include only two holes played over par and be good enough to win by three shots.

For Feller and Shepro they would also find success in the one of two net best ball format. Their 10-under-par 62 included six natural birdies. They tied with Joe Leonard and Tom Welch for the top mark but successfully won the scorecard playoff for bragging rights and the winner trophies.

In addition to the High Cliff squad, the other teams that claimed the Oliphant Golf Management Pro-Am Championship spots on Monday were the Ryan Helminen and Andrew Braun led groups.

In the low pro stableford event it would be Brian Brodell with the low round of the day. He piled up 41 stableford points after carding a 5-under-par 67. The score held off Joe Leonard by two points.

Michael Crowley would lead the way in the low senior stableford contest with 38 points.

The day also featured some action on the par 3s for the amateur contestants. Knocking it close and taking home a nice XXIO Boston Bag, dozen golf balls and two tickets to the American Family Insurance Championship were;

#3 – Chris Kostrewa
#8 – Ze Vue
#11 – Adam Garski
#13 – Brett Seider
#17 – Don Karls

A big thank you goes out to XXIO and new representative Kyle Pouliot, for their support of the day. Between some great proxy prizes and a nice contribution to the purse, the day was certainly enhanced through their efforts.

We’d also like to express our appreciation to Oneida G&CC for being flexible and accommodating with the weather issues. They were a great host and we were happy to bring our late May pro-am up to the Green Bay area once again.
