The 2022 WPGA four-player pro-am season wrapped up on Monday, with the playing of the 7th annual Oliphant Golf Management Pro-Am Championship. Once again a full field of twenty-nine teams would make their way to The GC’s of Lawsonia to enjoy the always fun Links Course. The field would be made up of teams that earned their way into the championship throughout the regular season, along with a few additional invitees.

A truly ideal fall day would accompany the participants throughout the round. The perfect conditions would yield plenty of low scores, leading to a battle to see who could take it the deepest into red figures.

Earning their third straight Oliphant Golf Management Pro-Am Championship was the foursome of Brian Brodell, Marty Bonneson, John Lukas and Nick Vangrinsven. Representing Golf Galaxy Appleton and Butte des Morts CC, the team would card a superb 19-under-par 125 score in the one net and one gross best ball contest. The score however would not be good enough to propel them to the outright win, as the Charlie Brown led Geneva National Resort team would match them. With the title and bragging rights on the line the foursomes would proceed to the practice putting green for a chip-off. With two of the four chips counting for the team, Bonneson would lead the way and knock one very close. The team would end up at about six feet total, earning the championship trophies.

Brown would get some great consolations prizes though, as he would earn the top spot in both the low professional and low senior professional contest. His 6-under-par 66 would feature seven birdies and an eagle on the par-5 5th. In the low pro event the score would be good enough to win by one shot over Ryan Helminen.

In what has become a tradition, Oliphant Golf Management once again enhanced the day with some great add-ons.

Knocking it close on the par 3s and earning the winning prizes were;
#4 – Victor Jacinto, #7 – Matt Sabol, #10 – Nick Vangrinsven,  #12 – Irv Hirschfeld and #14 – Sam Osborne

The random draw prize giveaway would also feature some excitement during the announcements. Taking home some great items were Jamie Ireland, Bob Mandoli and John Lukas.

A big thank you goes out to Oliphant Golf Management and their representatives for the continued support of the event. The company along with everyone at The GC’s of Lawsonia, put together another great day for the attendees to enjoy.
