Michael Nagy & Blake Jens
The countdown continued Monday to the end of the Wisconsin PGA tournament season. The Fall Pro-Pro Scramble supported by Harris Golf Cars, Antigua Apparel & Sterling Cut Glass visited Hawk’s View Golf Club for the second to last event on the 2024 calendar.
The participants were fortunate to have another nice fall day, as a sold-out field of 52 teams enjoyed the always fun Como Crossings course.
Once again the two-player scramble format presented a fun risk and reward proposition. It wasn’t a matter of if birdies and eagles would be made, it was how many you could pile up to have a chance to win.
For the second straight season the event ended in a tie at the top. Michael Nagy of TPC Wisconsin and Blake Jens of Blackhawk CC matched Andy Hansen of the University Club of Milwaukee and Andrew Troyanek of Rivermoor GC after all the scores were tallied. Each squad carded an 11-under-par 61.
Jens and Nagy would make eleven birdies on the way to the winning mark, while Hansen and Troyanek rolled in seven birdies and two eagles. For Hansen and Troyanek one of those eagles came on the final hole of the day, the par-5 9th.
The co-champions would split the prize money of the top two spots; however, Jens and Nagy would get the Sterling Cut Glass hardware via a scorecard playoff.
It marks the second straight season that Hansen and Troyanek have been victorious at the Fall Pro-Pro Scramble. For Troyanek it is his third title, also grabbing a victory back in 2015 with Bryan Brotchie.
The WPGA would like to express our appreciation to each of our event partners. The trio of companies teamed up to provide some great added value to the day.
We’d also like to thank Hawk’s View GC and their staff for hosting. The course was in great late season shape and the staff was very accommodating throughout the hosting process.
