David Bach continued his strong season on Monday, carding a flawless 6-under-par 64 at Watertown Country Club to capture his second one-day victory of the season.
The 31-year-old assistant professional at Whistling Straits put together an impressive bogey-free round on a perfect day for scoring. Bach took advantage of all three par 5s, making birdie on each, while also picking up a crucial birdie on the course’s hardest hole, the par-4 second.
His spotless scorecard and six-birdie performance helped propel Bach to a four-shot victory over Joe Leonard and low senior professionals Kurt Mantyla and David Roesch.
Bach’s bogey-free 64 earned him the title and a $1,690 first-place payout. The victory also strengthened his position in the Assistant Player of the Year race, extending his point lead to nearly 400 points with just the National Assistant PGA Professional Championship remaining as an eligible point event.
The win adds another highlight to the season for the four-time Assistant Professional Player of the Year, who continues to build on an impressive campaign.
A special thank you goes to everyone at Watertown Country Club for their outstanding efforts in hosting the event and providing a great venue for the competition.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to Oliphant Golf Management, the Wisconsin State Golf Association, Oakley, Ashworth, and the PGA Tour for their generous support and sponsorship in helping make the day a success.
