The 46th edition of the National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship gets underway on Thursday, November 17. This year’s championship returns to PGA Golf Club for the 27th straight year. The 72 hole tournament will take place on the Wanamaker Course and feature 132 assistant professionals from across the 41 PGA sections.

At stake will be a total purse of $150,000, $12,000 of which will go to the champion. Before the champion gets their hands on the champion’s trophy, they will have to navigate the 36 hole cut, when the field is trimmed to the low 70 players and ties.

Representing the Wisconsin PGA will be David Bach of Whistling Straits and Austin Barr of Hawk’s View GC. Each A-8 PGA member was able to gain entry into the national event via their play at the Wisconsin Assistants Championship in July. The twosome had an exciting back and forth duel as fought for the title at Wausau CC. Eventually Bach would come out on top by birdieing his final hole.

Bach will be making his second trip to the national event, while Barr will be making his debut.
