After a successful debut in 2024, the Fall Take-Two Pro-Am Challenge returned to the WPGA pro-am schedule last week. This year’s version took the multi-day pro-am to central Wisconsin for two great days of golf.

Thirteen teams made the trek to SentryWorld on Tuesday and Bullseye on Wednesday. In addition to two great golf courses, the players were also greeted with some unseasonal summer-like weather.

Tuesday’s team contest counted the low two net balls, while Wednesday featured the one net / one gross better ball event.

After 36 holes of play, two groups stood out amongst the rest. The Oaks GC and Janesville CC teams ended up tied at the top at 29-under-par in the overall event.

The Janesville CC squad of Rich Bartley, Doug Sheridan, Todd Thiele and Steve Grover put together back-to-back second place daily finishes to get the job done. Doug Sheridan led the way on day one with six natural birdies, two of which were net eagles. On day two, Steve Grover did his part with five net birdies and two net eagles.

As for The Oaks GC team, they earned the bragging rights between the two groups, as they took home the winner trophies via a scorecard playoff. On the course, the team used a strong day two finish to get to the winning mark. After finishing in 4th place on day one, the team of Joe Leonard, Brian Wilsey, Tom Welch and Mike De Vries put up nine natural birdies in the one net / one gross better ball format. They played their first seven holes at 10-under-par, giving them the momentum to get to the top spot.

As for the low professional overall event, Ryan Southworth put up back-to-back rounds of 69 to earn 78 stableford points. Good enough for a five point victory over Joe Leonard.

Earning the daily contest wins were:
SentryWorld – Two Net Team Contest – Meadowbrook CC (Jason Samuelian) – 16-under 128
Bullseye GC – One Net / One Gross Team Contest – The Oaks GC (Joe Leonard) – 17-under 127
SentryWorld – Low Pro Stableford Contest – Ryan Southworth – 39 points
Bullseye GC – Low Pro Stableford Contest – Joe Leonard – 40 points

A big thank you goes out to FootJoy for supplying some great welcome gifts to the players, and also to our host facilities, SentryWorld and Bullseye GC.

Lastly, we’d like to express our gratitude to everyone who came out and supported a Wisconsin PGA pro-am this season. At one point every single WPGA pro-am was sold-out. We cannot say thank you enough to our tournament players for their loyal support of the series.
