The 2021 WPGA four-player pro-am season came to a close on Monday, with the playing of the 6th annual Oliphant Golf Management Pro-Am Championship. A full field of twenty-nine teams would make the voyage to The GC’s of Lawsonia, to enjoy a day on the top 100 rated Links Course. Once again the field would be made up of teams that had earned their spot at the eight regular season pro-ams in the six months leading up to the championship.

With light winds and overcast skies throughout the day, the field was set to go as low as they could. The two net team contest also played into that narrative.

Earning their second straight Oliphant Golf Management Pro-Am Championship was the foursome of Brian Brodell, Marty Bonneson, John Lukas and Nick Vangrinsven. Representing X-Golf Mequon and Butte des Morts CC, the team would post an impressive 19-under-par 125. It would be good enough to hold off the David Roesch led team by two shots. The team would pile up twenty net birdies and a net eagle on their way to the victory. Elevn of those birdies and the eagle would be natural and not involve handicap strokes.

Brodell would pave the way for the team win as he would card seven of those birdies. Combined with only one bogey he would shoot the low professional round of the day, with a 6-under-par 66. The score would earn him the contest win by one shot over Ryan Helminen.

In low senior professional game it would be Michael Crowley and Mark Voeller tying with 3-under-par 69s.

With the help of Oliphant Golf Management the the day once again featured some great add-ons.

Knocking it close on the par 3s and earning the winning prizes were;
#4 – Mark Voeller, #7 – Kraig Joy, #10 – Cal Wittenberger,  #12 – Nick Zellmer and #14 – Nick Vangrinsven

The random draw prize giveaway would also feature some excitement during the announcements. Taking home some great items were Jim Hanson, Jeff Knatz, Derek Laczniak, Wade Oberle, Dan Stahlkopf and Matt Witon.

A big thank you goes out to Oliphant Golf Management and their representatives for the continued support of the event. The company along with everyone at The GC’s of Lawsonia, put together another great day for the attendees to enjoy.
