The Nelthorpe Cup was started in 1968 by Tom Stouthamer of Westmoor Country Club and Carl Unis, head professional of Brynwood Country Club.  The “all-star” exhibition brings together twelve of the top players and four of the top seniors from both the Wisconsin PGA and Wisconsin State Golf Association to participate in a fun one day match play event.  The event was named for the late Westmoor CC golf professional and Wisconsin Hall of Famer Blackie Nelthorpe.

The competition features Individual (singles) matches in the morning and four-ball match play in the afternoon.  Each individual match has three points at stake (1 front, 1 back, 1 total), while the afternoon four-ball team matches feature five points each (2 front, 2 back, 1 total).  The team with the most points wins the bragging rights and claims the the cup for the year. Through 2022, the series stands at 35 to 20, Wisconsin PGA.

The 57th Nelthorpe Cup Matches will take place on Friday, August 9, 2024 Pine Hills CC in Sheboygan.
