2016 OMEGA Assistant Player of the Year - Andrew Troyanek

In the assistant year-long competition, Andrew Troyanek of Rivermoor GC was able claim his first WAGPA award over second place finisher, Pat Steffes.  The Burlington resident had a terrific year that featured several local victories.  The UW-Parkside alumnus was able to run the table as he captured all three events that are reserved for assistant professionals only.  Those events included the one-day WAGPA Stroke Play, year-long WAGPA Match Play Championship and finally the National Car Rental WAGPA Championship.  At the National Car Rental WAGPA Championship Troyanek was able to start things off with some fireworks as he posted a first round 8-under-par 62 in route to his win.

In the end Troyanek had earned himself 1,195 points to top the standings.  Good enough to hold off Steffes by 95 points.
