A beautiful spring day greeted the Wisconsin PGA and the participants of the Spring Pro-Pro Scramble on Monday. To say the event was due for one of those days would be an understatement. It marked the first time the event has been played since 2021, after inclement weather forced cancellations the past two years.

The WPGA Las Vegas Pro-Am came to a close late last week. It was a another terrific week of golf, fellowship, and a whole lot of fun. The field was fortunate to have a nice week of weather and the courses offered some great playing conditions. It marked the ninth straight year the event has featured at least 48 teams. For the first time ever the tournament would feature two completely separate divisions of play. The sold-out 50-team field would be split in two divisions of twenty-five. Divisions were created by random draw during the 2024 WPGA Las Vegas Pro-Am entry lottery.

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin and FRISCO, Texas (February 1, 2024) – The Wisconsin Section of the PGA of America has selected Brendan Locke, PGA, a Madison native residing in Jackson and owner of four Wisconsin GOLFTEC Instruction and Fitting Centers, to serve as an At-Large Member of the Wisconsin PGA Board of Directors. Locke, a PGA of America Golf Professional since 2005, joins the Wisconsin PGA Board while serving on PGA LEAD, a PGA of America program committed to diversity in governance and volunteer leadership.

The Wisconsin Section of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America (WPGA) presents their class of 2024 Special Award recipients. This year’s group of award winners are being recognized for their expertise, leadership and performance in the golf business. Each of the eleven PGA Professionals exude enthusiasm for the game of golf and are dedicated to making it better. The recipients will formally receive their awards during the annual WPGA Special Awards Dinner held at Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells on February 28.

West Allis, Wis. – The Wisconsin PGA is proud to present its 2024 tournament calendar. The stage is set for another fun and exciting year of golf tournaments. The events will again offer a wide variety of formats and playing opportunities to both Wisconsin PGA professionals and amateurs.

The Wisconsin Section of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America (WPGA) announces the 2023 Players of the Year. The action-packed season was again filled with some outstanding golf from Wisconsin PGA professionals. From April until late fall the award winners performed at a high level both on a local and national stage. For the first time since 2017 each honoree won the 36-hole stroke play championship for their respective category for the Wisconsin PGA. In addition, this class of award winners each won multiple events in 2023.

The 47th playing of the National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship will visit PGA Golf Club on Thursday-Sunday, November 16-19. This year’s championship will venture back to the Port St. Lucie, FL club for the 28th straight year. The 132-player field includes Assistant Professional PGA Members or registered Assistant Professional PGA Associates that have advanced into at least level two of the PGA PGM Education Program. All 41 PGA sections will be represented this week.

Mark Voeller was unanimously elected as the 33rd Wisconsin PGA president on Monday morning at the association’s fall board of directors meeting. The PGA professional and manager at Golf Galaxy Brookfield is taking over the presidency from Michael O’Reilly of Kohler Golf. O’Reilly wrapped up a two year term that included the Wisconsin PGA’s centennial and fundraising campaign in conjunction with it. He also played a key role in a marketing initiative that ran during the past five years, which promoted Wisconsin PGA professionals and careers in golf.
